Puttur, 15 Feb 2015: The post graduation department of Physics of St Philomena College here organized Phoenix 2015, ‘The Immortality of Knowledge’ at their silver jubilee memorial hall, here on Friday February 13.

Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, chairman of Centre for PG studies, St Philomena College, here was the guest of honor.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Monteiro said, ‘The success of the college depends on the students with thirst for knowledge and committed band of teachers. In order to be a fine human being, it is not only the expertise in a particular subject matters, but it is the social concern, communication skill and community-oriented behavior which plays a major role,’ said Dr Monteiro. He also said that this Fest should not only be a platform for the students to exhibit their talent in Physics, but also help them in transforming into affine human beings.

Professor Leo Noronha, principal of the College in his presidential address said, ‘The name of the fest ‘Phoenix’ represents a mythical bird. Bird is always on the move by its instinct. Quality is something that keeps running and we run behind in order to achieve it,’ said Professor Noronha.
