Mangaluru: Congress dissident Hemnath Shetty longing for power; Poojary

Mangaluru, 01 Feb 2015: In response to the comments of Bharatiya Hindu Parishad (BHP) founder and sacked Puttur block Congress president Hemnath Shetty, former union minister Janardhan Poojary said that Hemnath Shetty longing for power and his recent statements against party leaders indicate that he has lost his mental balance to self conceit.
Addressing the media persons at District Congress Committee (DCC) office, here on Sunday February 1, Poojary said, ‘By passing baseless comments you have attacked the workers of the Indian National Congress that worked for the independence of the nation. Congress believes in taking the people of all religion together. It does not believes in looking after the interest of any one religion. Hemnath Shetty has the RSS mentality due to which he is not able to see the good deeds of the Congress leaders for the up-liftment of downtrodden and people of all religion.’
‘I congratulate CM Siddaramaiah and KPCC president for appointing new block Congress president for Puttur,’ said Poojary.
When asked about the solidarity health minister U T Khader expressed for BHP, Poojary said that Khader is into vote bank politics and he does not look into the interest of the nation.
AICC member P V Mohan, mayor Mahabala Marla, deputy mayor Kavita Vasu, Congress leaders Kallige Tharanat Shetty, Kripa Alva, Naveen D’Souza. Asha D’Silva and others were present on the occasion.
