Kuwait: Ghazal & Qawwali Night featuring Altaf Raja on Jan 29

Kuwait, 28 Jan 2015: Indian Youth Society has once again taken up the responsibility of celebrating the Indian Republic day in its unique style by hosting a Qawali show with the talented singer Altaf Raja at Indian Embassy Auditorium here on Thursday January 29 from 6.30pm onwards.

 

Altaf Raja is known for his excessive nasal style of singing, he has given many hit songs like Tum to Thehre Pardesi, Ishq aur Pyar ka Maza Lijiye and Tumse Kitna Pyaar Hai Dil me Utar kar Dekh Lo.

 

In the year 1993, Altaf Raja recorded his first Urdu devotional album Sajda Rab Ko Kar Le, from Venus and thereby his bonded relationship with Venus began happily. In the year 1996, he planned a unique album of Qawwali with a modern touch. He was lucky to sing the said compositions and it was released with the title, Tum to Thehre Pardeshi, and thus…. It proved to be the turning point of his life. Within few days the said album crossed all known records and became milestone of its time throughout one decade till today. He was rewarded with many awards including Channel (V). The mind blowing success has given him opportunity to climb the steps of popularity day by day. His first film song, ‘Ishq Aur Pyar Ka Maza Lijiye,’ from film ‘Shapath’ gave him great fanfare and change to act and perform on silver screen with Mithun Chakraborty and Jackie Shroff. The song was major hit, followed with songs with acting in movies like Trishakti, Mard, Chandaal, Yamraaj, Mother, Tirchhi Topiwale, Benaam, Keemat and Company as a singer.

 

 

He also got an opportunity to compose for Films viz Market (2003), Dukaan (2004) and Mai Ka Bitwa (2005).

 

His worldwide fanfare gave him opportunity to perform in every corner of world, where good music is respected a lot. Tours to USA, UK, CANADA USSR, AFRICA gave him lot of love of music lovers.

 

Indian Youth Society has achieved great success by organizing some very memorable events in Kuwait such as Dhoom Macha Le season 1 and 2 with the famous dance choreographer Terence Lewis; singing super stars with the very talented singer Vasundhara Das; Jhoom Barabar Jhoom with the Qawali duo Sabri Brothers, and the most entertaining New Year Dhamaal with Kapil Sharma, which was a massive success.

 

In the year 2014 IYS presented three big events which includes Comedy king Kapil Sharma, the beautiful and super talented Sugandha Mishra and the father son duo Udit and Aditya Narayan.

 

The Indian Youth Society, registered with Indian Embassy of Kuwait, was established in the year 2008 by the initiative of a bunch of young Indians with the purpose of creating a youth revolution. The society has been successful in amassing wide popularity amongst the youth of Kuwait and in spreading the Indian culture among the people of Kuwait. The team works together with a vision for providing social and cultural work with quality entertainment for the community.
