Mumbai: St Xavier’s School, Borivali (E) celebrates Republic Day

Mumbai, 26 Jan 2015: Republic Day was celebrated with much fanfare at St Xavier’s High School, Borivali (East) here on Monday January 26. This celebration was witnessed by many guests. There was a sense of patriotism in the air and national pride was on the face of everyone present there.
Firstly, the national flag was hoisted and National Anthem was sung. There were squads of all the houses, RSP, JRC and the main squad for March Past, as well as special band was display were presented.
Later, the programme began with a prayer. Guests were welcomed and it was followed by welcome song. There were patriotic speeches too.
A skit on the base of our great leaders who sacrificed their lives for India’s Independence was enacted on the same occasion.
The programme concluded with a vibrant closing chorus by the students followed by school anthem and planting a sapling in respect of protecting our environment.
Students were felicitated by the guests who excelled in various events. In their speeches, the guest congratulated the audience on the occasion of Republic Day and appreciated St Xavier’s Education Institutions chairman Dr A F Pinto and managing director Grace Pinto, our heads of schools, teaching staff for bringing up children in very unique and crystallized manner thereby preparing them to be worthy citizens of tomorrow.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks, closing chorus and that was later followed by the tree plantation ceremony which was a vow for a green clean nation. Chocolates were distributed for the children on this occasion of Republic Day.
