Mangaluru: District BJP aims to enrol 4 lac members ahead of Amit Shah’s visit

Mangaluru, 10 Jan 2015: The membership drive in the district for BJP is likely to get a boost with the visit of its national president Amith Shah on January 27 as the party aims to enrol 4 lac party members in the district.

 

The district BJP president Pratapsimha Nayak informed the media persons here on Thursday January 8 about the planned visit of Amit Shah.

 

Nayak said, ‘The membership drive which was started in November 2014 was aimed to enrol 4 lac members by February 2015 likely to achieve by January 27,’ said Nayak.

Nayak later on welcomed the decision of the state administration in order to form 2 teams to survey the area once again. ‘Let this not be just for name sake. Let the government announce the places of the visit of the two teams in a week ahead of Amit’s Mangaluru visitt. The teams have to meet the local panchayat leaders and survey the area and make sure they divide the natural habitat and the cultural habitat.

 

Dearth of funds for drinking water

 

‘The drinking water issue will aggravate once the peak summer season nears.  Even though, Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat has sent the proposal of about Rs 254 crore, the state administration has sanctioned Rs 27 crore this year compared to nearly Rs 50 crore in last year,’ said Nayak.

 

Poojary should not speak against assembly Speaker

 

Nayak also said that whatever the speaker has told about the government is on neutral basis. He has expressed facts. All these things have to be discussed within the boundaries of party. He should not spoil the honour that the district deserves and he should also think about his age and act accordingly.
