Belthangady: Woman set ablaze by husband loses battle for life

Belthangady, 03 Jan 2015: A 40-year-old woman, who was battling for life after her husband set her on fire at their residence at Gundibailu, Belthangady, on December 31, 2015, succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital in Mangaluru on Saturday, January 3.

 

As per police, on December 31, Mary was locked inside the house by her husband Tony alias Antony (47) after which he poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze. As soon as the fire spread inside the house Tony fled away from the house, only to be nabbed by the police a few days after the incident.

 

He was produced before the court.
