Mangaluru: Sensitization Programme at Wenlock Hospital on Dec 21

Mangaluru, Dec 20, 2014: Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North, an International Women’s Service Organisation, launches a sensitization programme for the staff nurses of Government Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore to ensure greater nursing care for the patients. While it is true that the hospital has been equipped with all the necessary infrastructural and medical facilities to answer every need of the patients, it is also true that there should be a greater focus on the interpersonal relation between the patients and the staff nurses treating them. The professionally trained nurses would do greater justice to the noble profession when efficiency is coupled with empathy.

 

In this endeavour, Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North has joined hands with the state health and family welfare minister U T Khader has extended his full support to the initiative to bring greater comfort and solace to the patients visiting the hospital.

 

The one-day sensitization programme scheduled for Sunday December 21 will be conducted at RAPCC, Wenlock Hospital premises from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

 

The renowned soft skills trainer Stanley David, founder CEO of Stanley David & Associates – a leading specialist training company, based in Bangalore, would train around 100 staff nurses. The focus will be on attitudinal and behavioural patterns that would bring about qualitative changes in the workplace.

 

This joint venture of Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North, state health and family welfae department and Wenlock Hospital envisages the extension of such sensitization programmes to the Front-office staff and PG students in the future.

 

The valedictory programme scheduled for 3.00pm on Sunday December 21 will be graced the state health and family welfare minister U T Khader.
