Venomous spider in packaged water bottle renders two ill

 

Beltangady, 18 Dec 2014: Two persons were hospitalized on Thursday, December 18 after they reportedly consumed packaged water, which was contaminated by a poisonous dead spider.

 

The duo- Sundar Shetty and Suresh had purchased the packaged drinking water from a wine shop at Laila in Belthangady in order to mix it with liquor. Without noticing the dead spider in the bottle, the two enjoyed a peg or two and then ended up throwing up profusely.

 

On checking the bottle, they found a dead venomous spider. The ill duo was rushed to the hospital by their neighbours who came to their help.

 

Upon doctor’s advice, the duo has been shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for further treatment.
