  • Tulu natives settled in Mumbai were lauded by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, the organizers, media and others because they were present in large numbers during Vishwa Tuluvere Parba

Mangaluru, 15 Dec 2014: ‘It’s the celebration of taking Tulu to the hearts of people.  The presence of God cannot only be experienced in temples, it can be found in universe.  Likewise, the people of mother tongue Tulu are living all across the world.  As one needs a goblet to drink milk, language is essential for the sustenance of culture.  Tulunadu that has rich Tulu language, had to develop further its distinct culture.  Hope Tulunadu does not face the threat in the guise of mega industries mushrooming in its homeland, said Swami Vishvesha of Pejavar mutt.

Swami Vishvesha was speaking during the valedictory ceremony of three-day Vishwa Tuluvere Parba – 2014, at Sahyadri College campus, Adyar, here on Sunday December 14.  It was organized by Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota® in collaboration with Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, to commemorate their silver jubilee celebrations.

Swami Vishvesha further said, ‘Since I am a journeying, I speak less on Tulu, nevertheless I have deep love for Tulu. The Tulu cultural extravaganza has proved the splendor of Tulunadu to the world.  Madwa Acharya was a Sanskrit scholar and had passion for Tulu inscriptions and literature.  The Tulu natives are commendable for sustaining their mother tongue for greater glory.  Let us foster other religions and live in harmony as brothers,’ said Swami Vishvesha.

Let us sustain Tulu and it distinct culture by shunning differences of caste, creed and faith overcoming the challenges,’ urged Dr Heggade.
