Puttur: Interactive Program on Misleading Advt & Consumer Awareness at SPC

Puttur, 14 Dec 2014: Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College, here organized an interactive programme on ‘Misleading Advertising and Consumer Awareness’ at Prerana Seminar Hall of the College, here on Saturday December 13.
The resource person of this programme was Dr Parameshwara Bhat N, principal of Bharathi College, Mangalore.
Dr Bhat while making his presentation on the topic said, ‘False advertising is any published claim that is deceptive or untruthful. Misleading advertising is a published claims that gives a consumer an incorrect understanding of the product they are interested in purchasing or using. The false and misleading advertising by companies of any product or service may result in the consumer suffering a financial loss, or any other form of damage to the consumer. Consumers who are victims of false or misleading advertising should contact an experienced lawyer to find out about his or her rights and actions that can be taken.’
This programme was presided by the principal of the College Professor Leo Noronha.
