Mangaluru: Vishwa Tuluvere Parba - 2014, 3-Day Tulunadu Cultural Splendor inaugurated

Mangaluru, Dec 13, 2014: The innumerable people attended Tulu Parba that was held in Ujire, Beltangady taluk during 2009. It’s significant that the people have furthered their interest in Tulu Parba. It’s indeed an occasion to strengthen the community bond. Although for a while, the people have taken a leap to western culture and lure of English, they have gone back to their commitment to sustain Tulu. They are now proud of conversing in Tulu. In the Kambala, buffalo’s race of Tulunadu, cruelty is the least. Let us hope Kambala gets a chance to survive. Tulunadu is the abode of peaceful living of multi-religious people. Its worth to strive to serve the goddess of Tulunadu in this regard, said Dr D Veerendra Heggade, honorary president of Vishwa Tuluvere Parba organzing Committee.    

 

Dr Heggade was speaking after inaugurating Vishwa Tuluvere Parba – 2014 at Sahyadri College campus, Adyar, here on Friday December 12 evening. It was organized by Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota® in collaboration with Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy to commemorate the silver jubilee celebration of Okkoota.

 

Tirupati – Venkataramana temple chief priest Ramana Dixit delivered the religious message.

 

The state health minister U T Khader was the chief guest of the occasion.

 

 

Oscar Fernadnes, Sahyadri College chairman Dr Manjunat Bhandary, Mangalore north MLA Moideen Bava, Kasargod MLA N A Nellikunnu, mayor Mahabala Marla, Dakshina Kannada ZP president Asha Timmappa Gowda, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president M Janaki Brahmavar, Kerala Tulu Sahitya Academy president I Subbayya Rai, Bombay Bunts Association president Shyam N Shetty, Bunts Sangh – Bellary president Gurme Suresh Shetty and others were present.

 

Hemavati V Heggade, Adyar Mahabala Shetty, Divakar S Shetty Sangli, A C Bhandary, Nitte Sasidar Shetty, Kadri Navaneet Shetty, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Jayakar Indrali, Vishwa Tuluvere Parba reception Committee president Ikala Harish Shetty, Tulu Koota Mumbai president Jayakrishna A Shetty and others were present at the dais.

 

Dr Heggade felicitated Mumbai-based Krishna Palace Group of Hotels managing director Krishna Y Shetty and Uma K Shetty couple on the same occasion.  Vishwa Tuluvere Parba – Maharashtra cultural Committee convener Karnoor Mohan Rai introduced Krishna Shetty.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Ramana Dixit said, ‘Mother tongue is greatest contribution of our ancestors and it’s our responsibility to sustain, and then only, it grows. The celebrations like Vishwa Tuluvere Parba indeed helpful to foster mother tongue and distinct culture among the new generation,’ said Dixit.

 

 

The artist Prashant Shetty presented pencil drawing of Veerendra Heggade and presented the latter.

 

Vidwan Nagesh A Bappanadu presented the auspicious music to begin the programme.

 

The veteran litterateur Yerya Laxminarayan Alva inaugurated the treasurer trove of books.

 

Krishna Y Shetty and Uma K Shetty inaugurated the media centre, while Tamil movie actor Suman offered motion for old telephone of BSNL.

 

Akhila Bharata Tulu Okkoota® president and Vishwa Tuluvere Parba organizing Committee president Dharmapal U Devadiga welcomed the gathering. The honorary president B Damodar Nisarga briefed about the silver jubilee celebration. The honorary chief secretary Ratnakumar M proposed vote of thanks. Purushottam Bhandary and Priya Harish compered the programme. 

 

Tulu movies hit songs extravaganza was presented by V G Pal, Jagannat Shetty Bala, Leelaksha B Karkera and Laxman after the stage programme.
