The Bunts community is known for its entrepreneurship and hardworking nature.

Kannada Balaga president Prema Rao delivered the introductory address.  The Shetty trio showered praise on Prema Rao for her efforts in starting HE Kannada Balaga. The students of Swaralaya headed by Manushree Kumar regaled the audience with Kannada Bhavageete and Janapada Geete (Folk songs). There were also scintillating dance performances which received plaudits from the audience. A quiz on Karnataka made the Thane Kannadigas sit up and think about the contribution and achievements of people from the State.  Prizes were distributed to the winners of cooking competition held earlier in September. Toppers in XII exam, Pranab Kulkarni and Nitisha Shetty of Hiranandani Estate were also felicitated.
