Bantwal: Minister K J George inaugurates new building of fire brigade at Bastipadpu

Bantwal, 26 Nov 2014: The concerned department has been instructed to identify suitable state-owned plot to construct own building to house offices of ASP and traffic police station at B C Road, here, said state home minister K J George.
Addressing the media persons, after inaugurating the new building of fire brigade at Bastipadpu, here on Tuesday November 25 evening, minister George said that the state administration has no control over visual media, clarified minister George. He further said that all the demands related to Bantwal district as set forth by minister B Ramanath Rai will be fulfilled at the earliest, added minister George.

Meanwhile, the law and order situation in the state is good, and for the first time in the state, the home department has taken steps in solving the shortage of police personnel and their housing. The process of appointing 18,500 police personnel out of the vacant post of 22,500 is under way. Out of total vacancies of 790 posts of sub-inspectors, 290 are undergoing training, said minister George.
In order to solve the shortage of housing to police personnel, the construction of 11,500 houses are in progress. Arogya Bhagya, free health check up project already introduced for the benefit of police force. Four Coastal Police Stations are already sanctioned already, while training centre for Rapid Action Force (RAF) will come up in twenty-acre plot at Yekkoor in Mangalore, added minister George.
DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, home minister’s advisor Kempayya, DIG Seemant Kumar Singh, fire brigade deputy director M Chandrashekar, chief fire brigade officer H S Varadarajan, divisional officer Tippeswamy, inspector Shivappa Gowda, sub-inspector Sundar, IGP Amrut Pal, SP Dr Sharanappa, town councilor Vasanti, deputy councilor Yasmeen, chief officer Leena Britto, Bantwal and Panemangalore block Congress Committee president K Mayilappa Salian and Abbas Ali, ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty, Pius L Rodrigues and others were present.
Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar, sub-inspector K U Belliappa, town and rural police station sub-inspector Nandakumar and Rakshit Kumar provided security at the venue.
