Beltangady: Mega Exhibition of Farming Machinery at Puttur from Jan 24 to 26

Beltangady, 25 Nov 2014: Mangalore-based Areca Research and Development Foundation in collaboration with CAMPCO and Vivekanand Engineering College of Puttur, will be organizing a mega exhibition of farming machinery at Vivekanand Engineering College campus, Puttur from January 24 to January 26, said Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and chairman of Areca Research and Development Foundation.
Heggaded informed the media persons, during the conference held at Sannidi guesthouse, Dharmasthala, here on Tuesday November 25.
Heggade further said, ‘Areca Research and Development Foundation is advising the areca farmers on rotten disease affecting plantations, alternative uses of arecanut and market trends etc. Over 3 lac people are expected to visit farming machinery exhibition in Puttur. Over 200 stalls are already booked. Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) will also offer necessary support in this regard,’ said Heggade.
The Foundation will encourage engineering students for their innovative machinery by conferring Varanasi Award, added Heggade.
CAMPCO chairman Konkody Padmanabha said that union agricultural minister Radhamohan Singh will inaugurate the mega exhibition of mechanized farming.
The union government and conglomerates such as Tata will also offer their support in the mega farming machinery exhibition. The preparations are under way to set up the stalls in an 8 acre plot, added Padmanabha.
The Foundation governing council member Narasimha Nayak, Shantaram Hegde Sirsi and Badanaje Shankar Bhat were present on the occasion.
