Udupi: Rotary Club felicitates St Mary’s College, Shirva - MSW rank students Lata & Sushmita

Udupi, 23 Nov 2014: Rotary Club International (RCI) district 3180 governor Dr Bhaskar S felicitated Lata and Sushmita who are the students of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here bagged second and fourth ranks respectively in the exams conducted by Mangalore University, during the function held at Rotary Bhavan, Shirva, near here on Saturday November 22.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Bhaskar said that RCI – Shirva that was established 45 years ago with the grant of US 1,500 from RCI has set an example to other social welfare organizations through their significant humanitarian service of poor and downtrodden in the society.
RCI – Shirva president Dr N S Shetty presided the programme.
The assistant governor M G Nagendra released ‘Mallika’ RCI bulletin on the same occasion.
Dr Gururaj introduced the donors of Rotary Scholarship Fund.
RCI district designated-governor Dr A Bharatesh, the office bearers of district Committees, representatives of education and other social welfare organizations were present.
Sangeeta Patkar rendered the prayers. Dr Shetty welcomed the gathering. RCI – Shirva secretary K R Patkar presented the report. B Pundalika Marate, Lucas D’Souza, Raghupati Ithal and lecturer Vittal Nayak introduced the dignitaries. RCI – Shirva designated-president Melvyn D’Souza and Dr Arun Hegde compered the programme. Ramaraya Patkar proposed vote of thanks.
