Kukke Pilgrimage turns tragic after girl gets electrocuted

Mangaluru, 11 Nov 2014: A freak incident of electrocution claimed the life a ten year old on Monday, November 11, in Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple.

 

The deceased is Nandini, daughter of Chinna Chari and Jayamma couple from Nandi Layout in Bengaluru.

 

According to the police, the incident occurred when the family went to a shop to purchase coconut and bananas to be offered to the deity.

 

Deepa touched an iron rod which was in contact with a live electric wire. Though she was rushed to the nearby primary health centre, she was declared brought dead by the doctors.

 

The police registered a case against shop owner Venugopal Rai.
