Mumbai: Billawar Association presents Tulu play, Raddet Yeredde to raise funds for health

Mumbai, Nov 10, 2014: Health is wealth. The humanity lies in helping those who cannot afford medical treatment by the well off. Billawar Association Mumbai® that is doing its yeomen service in this regard because of the able leader and farsightedness of Jaya Suvarna. Billawar Association has grown to such a stature because of its social concern, said Harish N Shetty, president of Kannada Sangha Malad®.

 

Harish Shetty was speaking health fundraising programme organized by Billawar Association Mumbai® at Narayan Guru auditorium of Billawa Bhavan, Santacruz (East) here on Saturday November 8.

BJP leader and Billawar Association Mumbai® past president L V Amin, Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited directors advocate S B Ami and Damodar C Kundar, CEO C R Mulky, Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra® president Chandrashekar Palettady were the guests of honor.

 

The dignitaries felicitated Karnataka Rajyotsav Award recipient Jaya and Leelavati Suvarna couple, Billawar Association Mumbai® newly-elected president Nityanand D Kotian.

 

The leading entrepreneur Surendra A Poojary, Harish G Amin, Satischandra Kotian, Dinesh Amin, Nagesh Kotian, Sudhir R L Shetty, Rajashekar Kotian, Anil Salian, Nilesh Poojary Palimar, Prakash Shetty Suratka, Girish Shetty Inchlagod, Shobha Shetty Kadri, Vasant V Amin, Sundar Rai Mandar, Arvind Bolar and the artistes of Kusalda Kalavidar – Tulu theater troupe were present.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Chandrashekar Palettady said that Jaya Suvarna is not only the leader of Billawa community, instead he is the leader of all Tulu – Kannadigas in metro.  Tulu – Kannadigas are proud of Karnataka Rajyotsav Award recipient Jaya Suvarna. The pooling of resources for health concern of economically-weaker section of society is the dream of Billawa veteran Vasudev R Kotian. He hoped the fund reaches over Rs 10 crore to help the people in Mumbai and hometowns.

 

Jaya Suvarna said that the credit for bagging Karnataka Rajyotsav Award goes to all Tulu – Kannadigas in metro.  He further said, ‘I have gotten a chance to become able leader by serving with Billawar Association and Bharat Bank. The pet project of Bharat Bank former chairman Vasudev R Kotian to float health fund will give new lease of life to many. The life would be worth lived, if one contributes a little portion of his annual earning towards the health fund,’ said Jaya.    

 

Nityanand in his presidential address appealed to the gathering to generously contribute for health fund that will help the economically-weaker families for their health needs.

 

Billawar Association Mumbai® vice presidns V T Salian, Chandrashekar S Poojary and Bhaskar M Salian, honorary treasurer Bhaskar V Bangera, women wing president Shakuntala K Kotian, Raja V Salian and others were present.

 

Gangadhar J Poojary welcomed the gathering. Bhavya Poojary rendered the prayers.  Billawar Association Mumbai honorary chief secretary Dr U Dhananjay Kumar delivered the introductory address. H K Nayanadu of Kusalda Kalavidar troupe read the citation letter. Ganesh K Poojary proposed vote of thanks.

 

The child dancers Kinjal A Amin, Sharanya H Kotian, Deeksha D, Ankita Poojary and Soujanya POojary presented dance recital.

 

Kusalda Kalavider - Tulu theatre troupe presented Tulu play, Raddet Yeredde, by playwright Tulsidar Manjeshwar directed by Kishore D Shetty with playback music by Nagarjun Mangal as part of entertain programme.
