Mangaluru: Customs seize gold worth Rs 3.69 lakh at MIA

Mangaluru, 10 Nov 2014: Officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport (MIA) at Kenjar near here seized 140.9 grams of gold on November 9 in the form of cut pieces of a gold bar concealed in the Microwave oven motor. Valued of gold seized is Rs 3,69,158 and was in the possession of passenger, who arrived from Dubai.
The accused is Shanid Angillath, 23, a resident of Angillath, post office, Thaikadappuram, Kasargod, who arrived at MIA on at about 5.25pm by Air India Express flight IX 384 from Dubai. Further investigation is under progress, Pravin Vinod, assistant commissioner of customs (airport), stated.
