Puttur: PG students of Economics visit Karnataka Cashew Industry

Puttur, Oct 30, 2014: The post graduate department of Economics of St Philomena College, here oganised an industrial visit for the students to Karnataka Cashew Industry, here on Wednesday October 29.

 

The students were briefed about the cashew processing unit; they were given insight on drying, pealing, grading and packaging of the cashew.

 

 

Karnataka Cashew Industry proprietor A B Veigas said, ‘Our country stands first in the world in processing cashew. The cashew, we produce have a great demand in the international market.’

 

This industrial visit was an enriching experience for students in getting live exposure.

 

It was organised under the guidance of lecturers of the department Professor Dinakar Rao, Professor Sandhya and Professor Pradeep K S.
