Mangalorean Sushant Shetty to ride Hayabusa into Bangalore from London

Sushanth Shetty is eyeing a new record when he rides his Suzuki Hayabusa from UK to India in the quickest overland journey between both countries. He set off from UK on Saturday 25 October.

Mangalore, Oct 26, 2014: Sushanth, a London resident retains his Indian citizenship. He and his Hayabusa will head to France, then through Europe to Turkey onward to Iran headed either to Pakistan if his visa application is accepted in time, or Dubai, the finally arriving in India. The East India Express journey spans 15 days of riding if he can travel through Pakistan, in which case a police escort is required. The trip will be longer if he’s headed to India via Dubai.

 

 

Sushanth has always wanted to ride from UK to India and decided upon it in Bangkok while travelling through Asia. He has also ridden in Europe earlier. Not much of a 6 months on the road guy, he wanted to do get the ride done as quickly as possibly and settled for his Suzuki Hayabusa.

 

His journey takes him to Sofia in Bulgaria, Ljubljana in Slovenia and Istanbul in Turkey. despite being apprehensive of riding in Eastern Iran and Pakistan, he looks forward to riding through Iran as a whole, and hopes to secure the fastest overland journey time between both countries while sticking to speed limits. His flight back to UK is booked for 23rd November, after spending a few days at home in India. The bike will remain here and be showcased at 2015 India Bike Week in February in Goa before being shipped back to UK.
