Udupi: National volleyball winners of Mount Rosary Eng Med School f’ted

Udupi, 26 Oct 2014: The national volleyball winners who represented district in Karnataka team and have won second place in national level volleyball tournament under 15 boys category were felicitated during a function held at Verabhadra Auditorium, Santekatte here on Saturday October 25.
The national level volleyball tournament was held at Penugonda, Andhra Pradesh, a few days ago.
The Karnataka state volleyball team lost to Uttar Pradesh by 25-21, 25-20, 25-18. They had entered the finals by defeating Goa, Tamilnadu, Manipur and Uttarkhand.
A rally was organized from Ashirvad Junction and concluded at Veerabhadra Auditorium, Santekatte, here on the occasion.
Mount Rosary English Medium School students Dasharath, Auston Barboza, Anubhav, Glen D’Souza and Manoj were part of Karnataka team that represented in national level volley ball tourney.
Udupi MLA Pramod Madwaraj inaugurated the programme.
The former MLA Raghupati Bhat felicitated the students.
Fr Philip Neri Aranha presided the programme.
Catholic Board of Education secretary Fr Clement Mascarenhas, Kallianpur gram panchayat president Satish Nayak, parish council vice president Gerry Vincent Dias, PTA president Srikant Samant, sports and youth services deputy director Roshan Shetty and others g were present.
Mount Rosary English Medium School correspondent Fr Philip Nerry Aranha, School head teacher Sister Adrian, physical education teachers Nagaraj and Sunil, Mount Rosary parishioners congratulated the students on their achievement and bringing laurels to Udupi district.
