Mangalore: Goodudeepa Lights mark splendor of Deepavali at Kudroli Temple

Mangalore, 22 Oct 2014: It was treat for eyes to see the colorful Goodudeepa lights displayed at Gokarnanat temple premises, Kudroli, here on Tuesday October 21. It was held as part of Namma Kudla TV channel’s annual Goodudeepa competitions.
It’s more than the enthusiasm of competitors, the visitors and art lovers thronged the temple premises to view Goodudeepa competitions.
The temple premises dazzled in myriad colors as hundreds of sky lanterns adorned the venue.
The mayor Mahabala Marla inaugurated the competition as well as the formal ceremony.
Goodudeepa competition was held in 3 categories - traditional, modern and special models.
In the model making category, Krsina Leela Temple of Bangalore, Eiffel Tower, Akshardham temple caught the attention of the visitors while the crystal Goodudeepa, glass pebble Goodudeepas amused visitors the most in the modern Goodudeepa category.
If the traditional Goodudeepa’s had the artistic touch in terms of the design and the colors used, the modern ones had the variety of materials used in their exteriors.
Over all, it was once in an year occasion wherein the elders had their Goodudeepa making memories cherished and the younger ones had their skills tested in the competition.
