Karkal: Reptiles play key role in maintaining ecology - reptile expert Gururaj Sanil

Karkal, 18 Oct 2014: Every living creature is dependent on each other, while none has the right to kill one another. It’s due to the selfishness, greed and superstitious beliefs, the different species of living creatures on earth are driven to extinction. The reptiles play key role in maintaining environmental balance, said the renowned reptile expert Gururaj Sanil.
Gururaj was speaking during the live demonstration on reptiles and its different species, its benefits, r mankind and environment, at Durgaparameshwari temple, Palli, near here on Friday October 17.
Gururaj also demonstrated the first aid for snake bite, the living pattern of reptiles, non-poisonous snakes, unnecessary fear about reptiles.
The veteran journalist B Pundalika Marate presided the programme.
Durgaparameshwari temple managing trustee Pundalika Nayak, Rajapura Saraswat Brahman Sangh® Palli president Ranjit Bhat, camp officer Devdas Nayak, Sadashiv Nayak Vittal, Harish Nayak, temple priest Vishnuprasad Bhat, Hariprasad Bhat and Shivaprasad Bhat were present.
