Mangalorean Film Director to host Bollywood’s Centenary Celebration in Sydney

Mangalore, 17 Oct 2014: The director of Malani Talkies - Sandeep Malani will jointly organize the celebration of 100 years of Indian Cinema in Sydney with Bollywood Film Festival and related events from November 7 to November 16.
Addressing the media persons here on Friday October 17, Sandeep said that the Australian government has taken keen interest in organizing the celebrations.
Sandeep said, ‘The celebration is being organized under the aegis of International Film and Entertainment Festival, Australia (IFEFA) and renowned stars of the film industries from various languages will make this event of greater significance.
Along with Kannada actors Prakash Raj and Ragini Dwivedi, celebrities Bipasha Basu, Zarine Khan, Aftab Shivdasani, Neha Sharma, Kalpana Pundit, Reshma Malani, Shubh Malhotra, Vipin Sharma, Asha Sachdev, Gulshan Grover and many others participating as juries, celebrities and performances at various events, added Sandeep.
IFEFA is an independent initiative to celebrate world cinema in the southern hemisphere. It provides an opportunity to showcase movies from around the world that are high on art and content and may or may not be shown in cinemas. IFEFA also attempts to celebrate the cinematic art and awards the most original and creative films and artists in the entertainment industry.
The mission for IFEFA is to support bold, visionary filmmakers, advance the art form of film and new media, and engage communities with remarkable cinematic experiences.
Founded by Amarinder Bajwa and Maxine Salma, the event has a nostalgic musical evening by Mohammed Rafi’s son Shahid Rafi, a beauty pageant, dance competitions, film screenings, Film Festival, Bollywood Nite, workshops, Film Exhibition and Awards Nite also being planned from November 7 to November 16, with opening and closing gala event that comprises Bollywood, Sandalwood and celebrities of south Indian cinemas.
Malani’s award winning film Jo Jo Laali will also be screened at the festival.
