Melwin Fernandes released from Kuwait Jail

Kuwait, Oct 16, 2014: Melwin Fernandes who has been languishing in Kuwait Jail on conviction of carrying banned pills has just been released after eight months in the jail.
As per his statement has was carrying some medicine for one of his friend in Kuwait and was totally unaware that those pills are banned in Kuwait.
In his wildest dream he has never thought that being a Good Samaritan to someone will land him in the jail.
Many Kuwait associations and leaders were involved in helping Melwin from the Jail namely: Pascal Pinto and Pandari Shetty along with support from all associations of Kuwait which made Melwin to see light of the day.
There has been numerous messages through social networks and Whatsapp for prayers for his release and finally answers of his family, friends, relatives and all Karnataka community has been answered.

Even as the news gladdened me, some facts need to be corrected. He was in jail for more than eight months. He was accused of bringing into Kuwait, Tramadol, a prescription pain-killer which is not approved for sale in gulf countries.
