Auckland: Multitalented Agnelo Mascarenhas presents Ninth Konkani drama Inam to packed audience

Auckland/New Zealand, 15 Oct 2014: Agnelo Mascarenhas, theatre artiste, movie producer and director presented his ninth Konkani drama, Inam at Freeman’s Bay community hall, here on Saturday October 11 to the packed audiences.

 

The theatre artistes Paul, Michael, Diogo,, Iva, Nita , Arca, Vitus, Isidore, Francis, Olympia , Dimple, Carmine, Sylvester, Clifton and Edward presented suspense filled drama kept everyone guessing and on their toes till the very end. The theme of Inam, revolved round a family of three.  Elder brother (Agnelo) and sister (Nita) looking after their disabled brother (Paul) who was born as a normal child and genius in music and computer and especially in sports (cricket) until he was viciously attacked by his jealous mates. Their aunt (Eva) and uncle (Michael) live in London and visit them frequently only to disguise their evil intentions as good willed in the hope of acquiring the ancestral property.

 

 

Eventually, elder brother marries and his wife (Olympia), a girl from a poor family while their sister (Nita) becomes a nun. The disabled brother gets ill treated by his sister-in law because of his conditions. In addition, aunty create more problems in  the family whereas the uncle tries to make peace. While the nun is in the convent the disabled brother is sold to a computer science Professor (Francis) who wanted to purchase his brains. Elder brother takes this step to keep his wife happy. Over the period, the elder brother’s family has a baby boy and it turns out to be an abnormal child. In the meantime, the disabled brother has become a wealthy man in Canada backed by the professor through medical treatment, education and a prestigious job as a computer science engineer.

 

On returning back to the family for a visit and seeing his nephew disabled, he vows to donate his future income of the Award he received through Lord. He then awards it back to the good cause for disabled children.

 

Backing up the drama was the comedy side enacted by porpoto (Diogo), Teddy Bear (Arca), Hot Dog (Vitus), Thambi (Edward), Shanti (Dimple) who did a great job in entertaining and making the audience laugh their hearts out.

 

In the midst of the drama and comedy, Carmine and Sylvester entertained the audience with their comedy song (Bebdo), song Jivitt Padrichem (life of priest) Trio sung by (Diogo, Francis and Clifton) was cheered by the audience.

 

Over all, the audience enjoyed every moment of the show taking home a good message.
