Bantwal: Amendments to Land Tribunal Act enhanced social status of poor

Bantwal, 12 Oct 2014: The Land Tribunal Act was the first step in bringing about social reforms.  Its due to the amendment to the said Act, the social status of all poor classes of people has been improved, said the state forests and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanat Rai.

 
The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating the newly-built Bharat Nirman Rajeev Gandhi Seva Kendra under National Rural Employment Guarantee Yojana by Navoor gram panchayat, near here on Saturday October 11.  It was built @ cost of Rs 10 lac.

The minister Rai further said, ‘Navoor village will benefit multi-village drinking water project that will be implemented @ cost of Rs 29 crore.  The execution of Sarapady road works would be expedited after the monsoon,’ said minister Rai.

 

 

Navoor gram panchayat president Baby Suvarna presided the programme.

TP president Yashwant D, vice president Vilasini, CEO Cyprian Miranda, ZP member Girija, TP member Padmashekar Jain, gram panchayat vice president Jyoti were the chief guests of the occasion.

 
The legalization of encroachments Committee president Mayeelappa Salian, B H Khader, junior engineer Krishna, Navoor gram panchayat secretary Shekar and other office bearers were present.

Navoor gram panchayat member Leena Sunita Rodrigues welcomed the gathering.  PDO Abubakker proposed vote of thanks.  Manju Vittal compered the programme.
