Mangalore: Unceasing gold smuggling at city airport; customs seize 204 grams from Dubai passenger

Mangalore, Oct 10, 2014: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport seized 204.000 grams of gold, valued at Rs 5,50,800, concealed in the form of a measuring tape, buckles of a rexine travel bag, buckles of sandals, handles of hair brush and pen refill which were all kept in a travel bag carried by the passenger arrived from Dubai.
The passenger thirty-year-old Sarfras Povval Mohammed Kunhi is a resident of House Number 17/568 (12/78), Nagarakatte Cross Road, Fort Road, Kasargod district of Keralas, who arrived at Mangalore International Airport by Air India Express flight IX 384 from Dubai on Thursday October 9 at about 10.15pm.
Further investigation is under progress.
