Canara Konkani Association Borivli presents Konkani Kala Utsav

Mumbai, Oct 09, 2014: The Canara Konkani Association Borivli, convened its eighth annual general body meeting at MBA hall of St Francis Institute, here recently.  

 

In the absence of Association chairman Albert W D’Souza, who could not attend the meeting as he had to attend an official religious function at Bareily, president George D’Souza chaired the meeting.

 

 

The Association secretary Charles D Cunha, treasurer Robert Tauro and educational aid Committee head Godfrey Quadros were present on the dais. 

 

William Martis was election officer introduced the newly elected 23 members of the Committee. 

 

Avril Saldanha, a student of Mary Immaculate Girls High School, and a  talented table tennis player  was felicitated for her achievement in winning the gold medals in various competitions.  

 

Konkani Kala Utsav, cultural extravaganza was held after the meeting. The well known Konkani singers Ivan sequeira, Ryan D Souza, Anthony Tauro, Denis Gonsalves, Frank D Souza, Sunitha D Souza and Kenny presented the melodious music. 

 

Riola Mathias and her team of youngsters from Mira Road enthralled the audience  with their dances. 

 

Well known theatre artistes of Association Henry D Souza, Cyril Monis, Wilfred Mendonca, Ruben Menezes, Veronica Noronha and Winnie Mendonca mesmerised the audience with their comedy act. 

 

Fr Vincent Barboza, assistant parish priest of Immaculate Conception (IC) honoured the sponsors of the programme. 

 

Charles D’Cunha compered the Konkani Kala Utsav which was attended by houseful audience. 

 

The programme concluded with a carry away dinner packet which was served to all.
