Bantwal: Equality will create just society - Minister Rai on Valmiki Jayanti

Bantwal, Oct 09, 2014: When hatredness and inequalities in different class of people eradicated; it would lead to just society, said the state forests and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanat Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti programme at SJSRY auditorium, B C Road, here on Wednesday October 8. It was jointly organized by revenue department, taluk panchyat and social welfare department.’
‘It’s the opportunity to remember the visionary sage Valmiki and a hope to bring Valmiki community who are least poor and deprived from social justice to the mainstream of society,’ said minister Rai. ‘We only know Ramayana but have no idea about its author Valmiki. He is not limited to one community. His ideals are worthy for us to emulate,’ added minister Rai.
TP president Yashwant Deraje presided the programme.
The town councilor Vasanti Chandappa, steering Committee president Ida Suresh, ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty, Chennappa Kotian, TP member Anand Shamboor, Dinesh Amtoor, Tahsildar Malleswamy were present.
The social welfare officer Reddy Naik welcomed the gathering. CEO Cyprian Miranda proposed vote of thanks. Manju Vittla compered the programme.
