Mangalore: Direct Cruise Ship to Lakshadweep

Mangalore, 07 November 2010: Cruise ship with 120 passengers on board, sailed off from Mangalore to Lakshadweep on Saturday November 06. The travel fare is Rs. 5,310.00 per passenger. Previously the ship from Mangalore used to sail through Coachin and was costing Rs. 11,000 and the journey was taking four days. Now the trip will be within two days.

 

 

 

The ship will reach Lakshadweep on Sunday morning and will return to Mangalore on Monday November 08. Lakshadweep is about 144 miles from Mangalore coast. This has been introduced by the Lakshadweep Islands Tourism Department Authority.

With reference to queries of Ravishankar Bangalore and Joy Mathew Bangalore, please note that the cruise ship MV Minicoy which had left Mangalore for Lakshadweep on 06 November has returned back to Mangalore on 08 November morning. Lakshadweep Development Corporation is operating these shipping services between Mangalore and Lakshadweep. As per the media sources the next trip will be on 27 November and they have plans to continue this service. Good News. Mangalore will be highly benefitted in terms of tourism and other trade. Why not start the same service to Goa, Bombay. I am aged 45 years. I had been to Bombay with my parents when I was about 1.5 years old.
