Guest lecture on Food science & Tech at St Philomena College

Puttur, Sep 16, 2014: The Science Forum, Alumni Association and PG in Social Work of St Philomena College, here jointly organized a guest lecture on Food Science and Technology at silver jubilee memorial hall, here recently.

 

CAMPCO deputy general manager H M Krishna Kumar was the resource person said, ‘For a healthy body nutritious food is essential. In our country there are no facilities to preserve the food grains, vegetables and fruits produced by the farmers. Therefore there is lot of wastage and untimely supply of food grains. The need of the hour is to make use of modern food technology so as to prevent wastage and make it available for the future generation.’

 

 

The College campus director and PG Studies chairman Fr Antony Prakash Monteiro said, ‘We have enough natural resources in our country but due to bad planning we have not been able to take the best advantage of it. Therefore we need to properly plan to make use of our resources so that we can take the best advantage of this.’

 

The College vice principal Professor Vishnu Bhat presided the programme.

 

Science Forum director Professor Uday Kumar and Alumni Association secretary Bharat Kumar was also present.
