Udupi: Pitty Nagesh murder - Police arrest five

 

Udupi, 12 Sep 2014: The officials of District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) arrested five accused on Friday, September 12 afternoon who were involved in the murder case of Pitty Nagesh.

 

Notorious criminal Pitty Nagesh was brutally murdered on Thursday night at Udayavar.

 

 

The arrested have been identified as Vishwanath of Korangrapady, Guruprasad of Alevoor, Munna, Santhosh of Nandagokula and Zaakir of Kukkikatte.

 

Out of five, Guruprasad Alevoor and Santosh had made murderous attacks on Nagesh on previous occasions too.

 

Sources claim that, Nagesh was taken to a bar in Katapady on Thursday evening by Munna. The gang attacked Nagesh at Udyavar while Munna was driving him home. After the attack Munna along with other assailants fled form the spot.

 

Incident in detail:

Pitty Nagesh, was murdered by a group of assailants on September 11th  night near Haliam Sabju Auditorium at Udyavar.

 

He was butchered to death by the gang while he was driving towards Udupi from Katapady in his Ford Fiesta.

 

 

The police identified the body through the cell phone which was spotted at the crime spot meanwhile his wife and family members identified the body at the hospital. A sword used in the crime was also found at the spot.

 

Criminal Background:

Pitty Nagesh, a resident of Indira Nagar of Kukkikatte who started his profession as a rickshaw driver was involved in various criminal activities.

 

He was also an accused in the murder case of Rowdy Vinod Shettigar, who was killed in Hiriadka jail on January 14, 2011.

 

 

Nagesh was also involved in the murder of a Nepali student in Manipal and murder of Hitendra Prasad, Editor of Hai Marutha in 2005.

 

Apart from this Nagesh was also involved in attempt to murder, ganja peddling and issuing death threats.
