Mangalore, Sep 9, 2014 : Mandd Sobhann, city-based organization striving to foster Konkani and its district culture worldwide presented Konkani play ‘Nimanne 30 Dees’ (Last 30 days), as one-hundred-fifty-third monthly theater at Kalaangann, Makale, here on Sunday September 7 evening. It was staged by Kalaakul, lone Konkani theater repertory as their thirteenth show, by playwright and directed by Arun Raj Rodrigues.
The comedy play, with serious thought-provoking content was enjoyed by a full-packed audience. The play begins with God announcing the end of the world and he gives the people 30 days time to be prepared. But, instead of preparing for their death, everyone is busy enjoying the few days of their life by fulfilling their earthly desires. When the time arrives, God judges everyone to see how prepared they are and on realizing their sinful acts, he doesn’t take their lives, but leaves them to suffer their punishment on earth.
Kalaakul, with another experiment, has proved its standard again. This is the first play of the new batch of Kalaakul trained artistes – Nishma D’Souza, Hanley Coelho, Sandeep Tellis, Preetham Rodrigues, Payal Rathod, Jeethan Rego, Clenwin Fernandes, Lester Menezes, Jeethesh D’Souza and Veena Pais.
Rohan Lobo Kalaakul provided the music and Darrel D’Souza of Kalaakul handled the light settings.
