Bantwal: Justice Santosh expresses hope on youth to restore true democracy in India

Bantwal, 08 Sep 2014: The society should shun the corrupt, the youth community should take a decisive stance in this regard for your and your children’s better future. Wake up, appealed Justice N Santosh Hegde.
Justice Santosh was speaking during awareness programme on social and moral values that was organized jointly by Melkar Women’s Pre-University College and M Friends – Mangalore, here at Melkar Women’s College, on Monday September 8.
‘The wealthy and those who hold key positions in governments are adored in stage programmes. The wealthy are flattered during the prograqmmes. Its because, we have no thought about our own actions that leads to degeneration of moral values in the society,’ said Justice Santosh who thro ughout his talk spoke on corrupt politics and overtures of bureaucrats and urged the youth fraternity to strive for reforms.
Government by a few, for a few, to a few
When democratic India was conceptualized it focused on forming government by the people, for the people, to the people. Meanwhile, it’s owing to corrupt political set up, it has become government by a few, for a few and to a few. Both parliament and legislative assemblies lost the sanctity with frequent boycotts, indecency and chaos, said Justice Santosh. He earnestly urged the students to restore democracy in India at least in their time.

Keep up humanity and contentment
‘The corrupt are not humans at all,’ said Justice Santosh in anguish. ‘I have seen corrupt officers and politicians during my term as Lokayukta, none of them are humans. The extreme greed has snatched their humanity. Don’t be like them. Everyone should keep greed in check. When the greed exceeds beyond it would bring peril to him,’ explained Justice Hegde. He urged the students to develop human values and contentment will dwell in you.
