Mangalore: Carmelites celebrate anniversary of Carmel Kiran - TV Programme

Mangalore, Sep 06, 2014: Carmelites from Mangalore region celebrated the anniversary of Carmel Kiran - TV programme at Infant Jesus shrine, Bikarnakatte, here on Thursday September 4.
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore concelebrated the Eucharistic Celebration along with several clergies here on Thursday at 10.30am.
Bishop Dr D’Souza in his well meditated homily appreciated the Carmelites for their creative and effective role in the evangelization. He said, ‘Evangelization is the duty and the responsibility of the local Bishop. And I am grateful to the Carmelites for shouldering this responsibility through the TV preaching.’
Bishop Dr D’Souza honoured Richard Machado, who records the episodes during a brief function held after Holy Mass.
Carmelites superior Fr Joe Tauro thanked the gathering.
Fr Stephen Pereira compered the programme.
