Udupi: Satish Bantakal churns out Ganapati idol of different shapes ahead of Chaturti

Udupi, Aug 26, 2014: The preparations are underway to make idol of Ganapati once Shravan month in Hindu calendar begins and it gains momentum as Chaturti nears.  The idols of small till the life size idols of Ganapati takes shape in the hands of expert artist.  The role of assistants also play key role is significant in this regard.

 

The key artist Satish, a native of Heroor near Bantakal, here is busy these days in this task.  He has ample orders for Ganapati idols of different shapes and sizes from the people of Udupi, Kundapur, Brahmavar, Suratkal including Bantakal.  This time 32 idols are getting ready at his household.  He also makes other idols depending on orders.

 

 

Satish is the top artist born in SC community, expert in painting and clay modeling.  He has trained the students of primary and high school in clay modeling, who have competed in state level competitions.  He also coaches the students on fine art and sand sculpture.  He inspires the enthusiasts to try their hands on fine art.  Let us salute him for fostering the art among his co-artists.
