Yuva Samagam - 2014, Udupi Deanery ICYM Meet held at Katpady

Udupi, 25 Aug 2014: At the joint aegis of Udupi deanery ICYM and Katpady parish ICYM unit, deanery level Yuva Samagam – 2014 held at St Vincent de Paul parish hall, Katpady, near here on Sunday August 24.

 

Udupi diocesan family welfare Commission chief Leslie Aroza and Uzwaad – Konkani monthly editor Capuchin Fr Chetan Lobo were the resource persons.

 

The Konkani traditional celebrations - roce, weddings and christening ceremonies were held during Yuva Samagam – 2014.

 

Katpady parish priest Fr Lawrence Almeida, Udupi deanery ICYM spiritual director and Kalmady parish priest Fr Alban D’Souza, Udupi diocesan ICYM director and youth Commission secretary Fr Edwin D’Souza, Udupi diocesan ICYM president Waylon Machado, Udupi deanery ICYM president Don D’Souza , Josna Montiero of Katapady, resource person Eugine Quadros of Barkur and others were present during valedictory function.

 

 

ICYM members Henzil Fernandes, Melron, Valisa D’Mello and Steven Colaco along with Don D’Souza were felicitated for their outstanding achievements.

 

Eugine Quadros, Benedicta Menezes of Mount Rosary, Kallianpur and Roshan Sequeira were the jurors of cultural competitions.

 

Fr Alban D’Souza thanked the youth for their active participation in Yuva Samagam.

 

Don D’Souza welcomed the gathering. L D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Fr Lawrence and Fr Edwin D’Souza spoke during the occasion.

 

 

Kuntalnagar parish ICYM unit won the first prize in cultural competitions.  Kalmady parish ICYM unit won second prize.

 

Katapady parish ICYM unit won Best Unit Shield for their outstanding unit of the deanery award.
