Mangalore: MBA/MCA Courses launched at SJEC

Mangalore, 19 Aug 2014: The new batch of students for MBA and MCA program, for the academic year 2014-15 was inaugurated at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, here during the function held at seminar hall of academic block II, on Monday August 18.

 

Father Muller Medical College dean Dr Jayaprakash Alva inaugurated the first year MBA and MCA programme, here on Monday morning.

 

SJEC assistant director Fr Rohith D’Costa, principal Dr Joseph Gonsalves and vice principal Dr Rio D’Souza were the guests of honor.

 

SJEC designated-director Fr Ajith Menezes presided the programme.

 

 

MBA dean Dr Prakash Pinto, MCA head of department Anushree Raj and convener Shakila B were present on the dais.

 

Dr Jayaprakash Alva, in his inaugural address, said that the present generation has ample opportunities in every sphere of life and they should make the best use of it. He emphasized the importance of the art of communication in all disciplines.  He advised the young students to undertake research in their area of specialization and also make effective use of the available resources.  Dr Alva asserted that character is important for a person above all other virtues.

 

Dr Joseph Gonsalves greeted the new entrants and wished them great success in pursuing the Masters Program at SJEC.

 

Fr Ajith Menezes appreciated the students for deciding to choose SJEC for their post graduate studies. He advised them to create a win-win situation and achieve their goals.

 

The SJEC MBA Choir presented the invocation.  MBA assistant Professor Shakila Bwelcomed the gathering.  MCA associate Professor Sowjanya Kamath proposed the vote of thanks.  MBA associate Professor Lorraine Rosario compered the programme.
