Vittal: Dead lizard found in rum bottle at Muliya; man saved due to presence of mind

Vittal, 19 Aug 2014: A person who is used to take a few quarters of rum daily had a surprise, when he opened a quarter bottle being reported from Muliya, near here on Tuesday August 19.

 

A person hailing from Muliya, near Peruvai, here has bought 2 quarter bottles of XXX rum from a bar located at Adyanadka, here on Monday August 18 evening.  When he opened a bottle and poured a peg into a glass at home, he saw something inside the bottle.  It was none other than a dead lizard.  He was surprised and emptied the glass into the same bottle and capped it.  Meanwhile, he checked the other bottle and found to be crystal clear.  He finished off the bottle and slipped into deep sleep.

 

 

 

When he woke up on Tuesday morning, he took the bottle full of rum with dead lizard to the same bar from where he bought the earlier day.  He was stunned to hear the reply of the bar owner that the liquor major is making fuss over unfit stuff.  The bar owner said that its not the first time, such objects are found in bottles.  He survived because he sensed something in the bottle and avoided consuming, instead had the other bottle.

 

The locals said that the consumer’s court has fined huge amount to a liquor manufacturer related to a case of finding a dead snake in a bottle of wine.   If this person has filed a case, he would have been awarded suitable compensation to send a strong message to others.  However, since the person in question was a commoner, the liquor company saved of prosecution.  It’s wise on the part of liquor consumers to check the content before gulp down the booze.
