Udupi: Patanjali Swadesh Kendra - Shirva echoes sacrifices of freedom fighters on I - Day

Udupi, 16 Aug 2014: Patanjali Swadeshi Kendra, Shirva, near here celebrated sixty-eighth Independence Day on Friday August 15, with the students by educating them of freedom fighters who belonged to different castes, creed and religions but shared a common goal of freeing the nation from imperial rulers.
Its significant that sixty-eight lamps were lighted as a public tribute to commemorate the martyrdom of freedom fighters.
The social activist Anantaraya Shenoy educated the people on the freedom struggle waged by different personalities from Friday morning to evening.
The sweet dishes were distributed to the people who arrived at the venue.
The theater artiste Rajanikant Shirva, Kariyappa Shetty, Shirva gram panchayat president Hassanabba Shaikh, vice president Deepika Charlotte, Gopalakrishna Prabhu, Mayyady Kalandar, Denis, Eric, Asha Kiran, village elders, students visited the office of Patanjali Swadeshi Kendra, Shirva, and offered tributes to freedom fighters.
