Boat accident : Search operation launched for missing fisherman

Mangalore, 12 Aug 2014 : One fisherman went missing after a fishing boat met with an accident at Alivebagilu on Monday, August 11. Two other fishermen escaped with minor injuries.

 

 

The missing fisherman is identified as Jagannath Karkera (48).

 

On Monday Jagannath Karkera, Keshav and Devadas, had gone missing on a gilnet boat owned by Vinutha. 

 

When their boat entered the rough sea a giant wave hit the boa, throwing all the three into the sea.  Jagannath went missing, while Keshav and Devadas managed to reach the shores.

 

Search operations have been launched now.

 

A case has been registered in Panambur Police Station.
