Mangalore: Konkani Natak Sabha holds Inter Parish Elocution Competition

Mangalore, 04 August 2014: Konkani Natak Sabha® Mangalore (KNS) organized 47th Elocution Competition in the Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday August 3. The Competition was held in four categories – 5 to 10 years, 10 to 15 years, 15 to 30 years and above 30 years.
In the 5 to 10 years category 9 competitors from 7 Parishes took part in the competition. In the ladies category Delisha Miranda from Moodibidri Parish bagged first place, Danica Vinola D’Souza from Cascia Parish stood second place and Rachel Crasta from Vamanjoor Parish third place. In gents category Lein Shawn Sequeira from Derebail Parish bagged first place.
In the 10 to 15 years category 14 competitors from 10 Parishes took part in the competition. In ladies category Lish Ann Pereira from Valencia Parish bagged first place, Venciita Dias from Angelore Parish stood second place and Annalisha D’Silva from Bondel Parish third place. In gents category Anjelo Sucheth Noronha from Cordel Parish bagged first place, Ravl Samuel Noronha from Bajpe Parish stood second place and Renold Lobo from Cordel Parish third place.
In the 15 to 30 years, 10 competitors from 8 Parishes took part in the competition. In the ladies category Nishal Nivya Rodrigues from Ashoknagar Parish bagged first place, Stephi Helen D’Souza from Ranipura Parish stood 2nd place and Jesma Roshni Pais from Hospet and Nilisha D’Souza from Bejai Parish shared third place. In gents Category Brian Peris from Gurpur Parish bagged first place, Roshan Crasta from Paldane Parish stood second place and Merwin Lobo from Gurpur Parish third place.
In the above 30 years, 7 competitors from 5 parishes took part in the competition. In ladies category Edna Noronha from Cordel Parish bagged first place, Lavina Crasta from Vamanjoor Parish stood second place and Irene Mendonca of Cascia Parish third place. In gents category Roshan Lasrado from Paldane Parish bagged first place, Charles Fernandes from Paldane Parish stood second place and Jacob D’Souza of Modankap Parish third place.
Aloysius D’Souza, Edi Netto and Meera Pinto were the judges for the competitions.
Vice President Dolphy Saldanha welcomed the gathering. Martin D’Souza compered, while Joint Secretary Jeri Pinto introduced the Judges. Treasurer Prem Lobo proposed vote of thanks.
