Karkal: Massive protest staged at Saccheripete in support of BJP leader Sucharita Shetty

Karkal, Aug 1, 2014 : At the backdrop of abusing Dakshina Kannada ZP former president and district BJP president K P Sucharita Shetty by Udupi ASP Annamalai, when a minor road accident that took place at Saccheripete, near here a few days ago, a massive protest was staged at Saccheripete, on Thursday July 30.

 

Addressing the protesters, Sucharita said that Saccheripete was known for communal harmony, but owing to a few persons like Hamza and Anwar; it has witnessed communal flare ups.  The cattle-lifters are active even on broad daylight, while the police department is in deep slumber. Meanwhile, the peaceful protest was organized in order to condemn police department for abusing Sucharita by a police office motivated by political clout.  The police officer had exhibited lack of civil sense, when he questioned the police on registering false cases on innocent people.

 

 

The locals have come in large number in support of Sucharita in condemning police atrocities.  The law enforcement agencies provided heavy security at the protest location.
