Bantwal: Aatidonji Koota programmes necessary to foster Tulunadu culture - S Karinja

Bantwal, Aug 1, 2014 : Aatidonji Koota like programmes is indeed part of education.  Its also more helpful to organize such programmes in schools, said Bantwal block education officer Sheshashayana Karinja.

 

Karinja was speaking during Aatidonji Koota programme that was organized at Balavikasa English Medium School, Mani, near here on Thursday July 30.

 

 

The new generation got to be educated on the dangers of modernity.  At this backdrop, Aatidonji Koota programme is helpful in creating awareness among the students on the traditions and practices of erstwhile Tulunadu, said Karinja. He further said that Balavikas School in Mani, near here has been the first to organize Aatidonkji Koota in Bantwal taluk, as such programmes are planned in all schools beginning from August, added Karinja.  

 

ZP member Chennappa Kotian in his presidential address appealed to the parents to culturally grow their children along with their studies. Balavikas School has set an example by organizing such programmes that promotes Tulunadu traditions and customs.

 

 The retired physical training instructor Gopalakrishna Shetty was the resource person, said that the age-old beliefs have scientific reasons. These kinds of programmes have to be held to foster Tulunadu traditions and practices. 

 

ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty, TP member Dinesh Amtoor, school correspondent Prahlad Shetty, parents-teachers Association president Mohan P S also spoke on the occasion.

 

The school  administrator C Sridar delivered the introductory address.

 

The gram panchayat president Ramani, school parents-teachers Association vice president Balakrishna Alva, Kasturi Pradeep, Balavikas Trust president B S Naik, trustee Narayan Shetty, education co-ordinator Ramanand, Sujata Kumari and others were present on the dais.  

 

The student Laxmi offered info on the significance of Aati Amavase.  Balavikas High School head teacher Vijayalaxmi welcomed the gathering.  The primary school head teacher Grace P Saldanha proposed vote of thanks.  The teachers Yajneshwari and Jayasri compered the programme. 

 

The dignitaries, students and their parents savored the special delicacies prepared as part of Aatidonji Koota programme.
