Keep up the good spirit kids! It reminds me of 1961 when I was elected the first SPL of St Lawrence High School. Carry on to the next level of local bodies and then state and national levels. Be proud of the democratic set up we are enjoying for the last 60 and odd years. Jai Hind!

It reminded me of my CPL days, excitement of the elections, canvassing with friends going every classes. wow it was fun. I just miss my school college days. Thanks Mr.Eugine Ivan for taking me back to the old memory lane. Fr. Paul has changed this institute by bringing in the enthusiasm in students, so making college studies interesting. Hats off to you Fr. Paul.
Thanks Bellevision for publishing the report.

This stuff is usual to our contractors. They are least bit bothered since public memory is short. Such things are going on for decades. Contractor will walk away with bigger and better contracts due to handling and ignoring such experiences. Genuine concerns opinied by Philip and Benedict will be attended only if general public protest the injustice to the tax money immaterial of political party. General public should not be fooled this way that too so easily. Lets hope for the best.

Thanks, BVG, for publishing the news promptly. I regret that I referred to Pravin Noronha as Pradeep. My two-pence to this sad saga: Our civil engineers in the public works department, do you have building codes for roads in rural and tropical regions? If yes, do you appendix them to the tender specification, and follow it up with QA/QC assurance? b) Have you issued a provisional acceptance certificate (PAC) and authorized the payment to the contractor? c) If yes, have you with-held the sums in lieu of a performance bond of 0% of the value and if no, how do you intend to put in place remedial actions? and d) would you care to publish a reply to this report and place the Techno-commercail bid evaluation report in pubic domain, say here on BV.

Dear Editor, would you commission a follow-up report stating the story of the other side , if there is one. Ronald Sabi drove me in his 4D last Dec, when the Udipi-Palli segment doubling work was progressing. I wondered then if the work would be complete before monsoon. To me,l it doesn t look like corruption but our general lethargy and initha kelasa yelle malpuga attitude. And of ocurse, we have one scapegoat to blame our ills: Sonia Gandhi!!

Victor, your camera has beautifully captured the graphics that my eyes have etched within me, from my last trip to Manipal six months ago. I had spent a day meeting and talking to students and teachers at the international cafeteria opposite mit.edu, and of course, half a day taking in the view from the end point. Do update us on the progress of the Udipi District HQ bldg that is coming up at the approach to End Point.

In my younger days, many a trips have I made to the villages described in this travelogue. My city-bred wife, fearful of roved boats, my naughty boys ever ready for herculean experiences and me, never saying no to fried fish and fresh madachi sur , life seemed beautiful. Not necessarily, how we viewed it if we were to fish for a living!

This is the fate of road building. The Leaders were boasting and lifting their collar up for done great things? It is corruption and swallowing peples money. Contractors and leaders colluded and made a mess of the road work. It must be tackled by demanding repairs by the same contractors at their costs and the roads must be made travel worthy in any season. Lest the erring contractors must be black listed and punishded as per law and rules.

I really wonder why the job was started so late and that too just before the eruption of mansoon, though the rain was late this year. Within one week of rain if this is the fate of road, one can imagine the situation come Septermber. Tax payers money anyway, why bother? Interesting to watch, if this job is considered complete and new tender for new job just before next years rain? where is it heading from here??? I am not blaming any political party, frustrated at the system in place!

Shame on the corrupt politicians. All villagers should unite and make gherav in front of district administration officers and Engineers for this careless and hopeless situvation. This grave situvation will cause lot of accidents in near future.
And it will be a nightmare to the pedestriand and especially the school chilren during this rainy season.
So concerned authorities please take immediate action against the culprits and protect the public interest.

This shows the true colour s of the India government with all the corruption that is seen. Contract is given to construction firm based on bribes. Than the company makes a low quality road and the government must pay for a new one. GREAT WORK Smt. Gandhi, your family has done a great service to India for the last 50 years

President Obama fought and won as well to get the compensation for the oil spill by BP. But remember Bhopal? To this day, Bhopal bears the human and physical scars of the disaster, which was never properly cleaned up either before or after Union Carbide, sold its Indian business to a local group in 1992. Union Carbide has yet to admit responsibility for a catastrophe. Clouds of lethal gas emitted by a factory owned by U.S. based Union Carbide into the heart of that central Indian city immediately killed some 2,250 people, and affected as many as 500,000 more. Of that number, it is estimated that between 15,000 and 30,000 people subsequently died as a consequence of the accident and tens of thousands of others remain sick. The United States needs reminding of the paltry penalty one of its leading companies paid for being the source of the worst industrial disaster in history. How many people in the West today want to compare the compensation citizens of India received for loss of life and health with the compensation that is likely to come from BPs oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico?

Good to have such book exhibitions. But it will be a waste of time and energy when you hold such exhibitions in Moodubelle.

why I say like this, yes our Moodubelle people and particularly the Christian families are not bothered about books, literature, culture and togetherness. What Moodubelle people are best at is to build big houses sorry bunglows, have a eight feet high compound wall (so that no one should see the inside world), have parties, watch countless TV serials, give their children sophisticated bikes to roam around and waste money. Show me how many writers, poets are available in Moodubelle. Hardly one or two who also reached fame only because they are out of Moodubelle. We Moodubelle people do not not how to encourage talent, unite, value books, literature, do not have any vision. We do not attend cultural functions, do not get together, do not participate in political events .... but call for a marriage or eating, you will get many. Our so called intellectual people do not involve with common people as they have their own dreamland. So please do not waste your time in Moodubelle, a land where people are bothered mainly with artificial happiness.

Explaining the details of the saint of wards in every report of moving the statue of St. Lawrence to wards, by Dr. Eugene, has been really meaningful. Observing saints more closely reveals that they were ordinary people just like us, who have chosen to live their lives in what they believed is Gods direction. They are our friends and our personal companions on our faith journey. They comfort us, give us guidance, hope and they help us find Gods plan for our lives.
