Just few days back Sharath Pawar was saying that he will work for the agricultural ministry on week days and on week end he will fly to Dubai for ICC work. If he is an honest person, he should be taking long term unpaid leave from the ministry to work for ICC. When the country has enough capable man power why should one handle two jobs.

Excise duty = Rs 16.22
Education Tax = Rs 0.48
Dealer commission = Rs 1.18
VAT = Rs 6.22
Crude Oil Custom duty = Rs 1.24
Petrol Custom = Rs 1.74
Transportation Charge = Rs 6.80
Total price = Rs 58.16

You should be paying Rs 33 per liter petrol at pumps, if governments did not exist! The tax is shared by all levels of government, central, state and civic/ZP/GP. So, bandh or otherwise, more government, more tax, and higher petrol price..:D

We need to always thoroughly check what we eat. Fresh food is not free from risk either as the fresh may have fresh toxins or fresh bacteria or fresh lizard…

Care should be taken at the place of food processing and packing. In todays competitive world the manufacturers try to cut down their cost by compromising on the quality and safety procedures and this is the result. I am sure now the authorities will have strict vigilance on canned products.

In todays world the youth are facing tough challenges in identifying and understanding themselves against the worlds of things that are available to them. Only a few are paying attention towards their real needs. More and more youths should come forward and join ICYM. Parents and elders need to encourage the youths and prepare them for the Society.

Congratulations to Mr.Bradlly Martis and team. ICYM is right platform to exhibit the talents of the budding youth and thus become future leaders of the society. I request each and every youth of the parish to become member of ICYM and join hands together with the executive committee members for the betterment of parish. I appreciate Mr. Sandeep for informing the authorities so that we all can be aware of it and can be cautious. Once we open a tin we need to inspect the entire contents. Best thing would be to avoid stored food and prefer fresh food.

I do not think that there is anything wrong in this Bandh as long as it is peaceful, as the common man has no option left. He can stay hungry for one day but it has become unbearable to suffer hunger every day.

Good for children who will have a day off. Since there is rain, all the grounds are wet, so probably they may use the street to play cricket as the streets are deserted anyway.

Making bandh and paralyzing the life and economy of the country is not the right way of lodging a protest which no economically advanced countries will ever think to deal with such problems, considering the losses incurred in a day.

Very heartening to know our GP President s track record: She has enviable record of public and social service. With what limited powers a GPP holds, and the devolved funds from state and central schemes, let they be spent with one principle: do anything right for the first time. Once should be good enough. And must last. Which means quality and not necessarily quantity. Repeat jobs costs money, even if it is spent to employ to guarantee minimum 100 days work to the rural unemployed.

I am impressed with this awareness drive aimed at promoting career opportunities in our national administrative services. I suggest the forum also focuses in building awareness of ethics in public service

I earnestly hope her call for government support will be heeded by government. She certainly can and should influence her party s administration at all levels

Very good initiative by Fr. Paul in conducting this awareness programme, so that all students and their parents are aware of the scholarships they can avail, which gives them the opportunity to plan their education accordingly. Information is the key to success which applies here also. Equally the support provided by Dr. Eugene and Team Bellevision by reporting this event, so that it can reach all, is commendable.

The legends are valued for their performance on field. So out of the field performance cannot damage Maradonas legendery hood. He created and applied new technic, skill and aggressiveness, which was one man show during his tenure as a player. Also, loosing is part of the game, though win was expected by fans. It time, things will be back to normal for him.

The damages caused to a constitutional authority who is an honest person cannot be undone. If the government would have supported him earlier he could have wiped out the corruption.

It is good that development of air port has taken place but the aviation industry is in bad shape with almost all the air lines running in loss and little efforts being made for the passengers safety. There have been one crash and several misses, at the rate of almost one every alternate day, which is too high by any standard.

The design of the counters seems to be from the previous century. One of the picture shows the difficulty faced by even a normal size adult male while interacting across the counter. Havent the designers learnt the basics of ergonomics?

The investment seems to be farsighted and long term one as the air port looks marvelous. Hope this would bring in more and more tourist and make things easier for passengers.

It is a good feeling that we now have an airport which is rated fifth largest in the world. The efficiency of the airport however depends on the speed with which it can provide check-in, immigration and check out services. It is possible provided all the departments within the airport cooperate smoothly.

Our own phulkarachem kaatem is a sort of cooperative that works seamlessly for decades. The milk cooperatives, the agro-products marketing cooperatives in our villages also serve the producers and consumers remarkably.

Informative article by Dr. Eugene. The benefit of cooperatives is that they combine the wealth and resources of many individuals and harness them in a united way. To help achieve this, however, cooperatives should be structured so that individual interest does not dominate collective interests. We can see many cooperatives are functioning successfully in India. Dabbavalas in Mumbai who deliver lunch from home to work place for thousands with perfection is a example of this.

Our Gram is known for gutsy women folk. Very sharp, blunt and straight from the heart talkers, lasunn konne layilli konna" types. For serving people, guts is much needed trait. This trait will come handy to immediately put a full stop to chai paani demands at GP office. Issue the birth, marriage and death, certificate attestations promptly. Never attempt fudging any records, esp land ownership titles.

As women, one of the social problems that should be addressed is alcoholism and substance abuse by their men. The other is the extravagant weddings and other celebrations.

Apart from receiving good price for agricultural products of the gram.
