Very much pleased to see democracy at work at grass root levels. These meetings should be conducted every three months so that the voters can assess the performance of their representatives and see for themselves how their money is spent. Bolleda janakuleg enna malla salam!

you are wright Mr. Philip.there are so many changes become when women went out for job.husband and wife both are earning and the family is running good.but there is no relationship value what it had before.children never loved by their parents after mother goes out for job.and the same will continue in the future generation. One who born and broughtup in cities dosent understand this values. But now in villages also childrens are not getting parents affection like before.we turned our culture into western culture.our kids do so......I know womens can work in any field like men except tasks involving muscles.Recently I have seen a woman seeking help in a circle with a heavy traffic where her car got brakedown, instead of showing sympathy or help the womens drives vacated the place.but one man stopped the car with kepping hazard light on got down and pushed the car to safe place and helped the women to call a towing vehicle.this is just a example.

No plastic awareness campaign should reach every home of our country.Plastic has become a devil in the making. Government can enact some law to ban the production of plastic bags to save the environement from its menance.Otherwise, awareness camapaigns have no meaning.

From a strict micro perspective of villages like that of ours, the women continue to be the for decades. Men plow, women plant. Men are paid higher wages, given tougher tasks involving muscles and strength; women undertake softer tasks done with softer skills like teaching, nursing and rolling beedis. Men are priests and aspire to climb religious hierarchies, while women s preserve is the outer support hierarchies like nuns, sadhvis, etc. Despite the changes, it is very much man s world. (I have my wife s permission to say so!)

I agree with Dr. Eugene: "A small step for man is a giant leap for mankind" - Neil Armstrong. Bellevision story is similar to Neil s words.

Credit goes to Ronald Sabi, Sigfred, Wilfi the gang and other regular contributors like Dr. Eugene.

Wishing Bellevision every success.

MUMBAI_KARWAR FAST TRAIN TO MANGALORE.
The readers of Bellevision may know that the News is that one of the demands of Railway Yathris of Udupi Mangalore is going to realise by Saturday. The Mumbai-Karwar Express train is extend upto Mangalore. Though the demand is for Mangalore Central it is said to be upto Kakanady for administrative reasons. This Government and our Leaders have always second thoughts.Any way for the time being one of the promises of Mr K.H. Miniyappa have been fulfilled. The Second one Bangalore Mangalore train to Karwar, is to be fulfilled fast if Muniyappa s Party has to do better in the comming elections for Taluk and Jilla Panchayath. Mr Oscar Fernandes the ex Minister for labnour and M.P.(Rajya Sabha) has to come out of his slumber or from negative attitude that he has been elected to Rajya Sabha etc.. If he has got any mindto strengthen Party Congress in Udupi Cosntituency he has to as a Leader serve the Peoples needs. Let him know that people hold strong view that he has done nothing etc. This is to just alert the Congress Leaders as opponents are doing better.
I only wish that Peoples needs are met first and their cause will be suppported.

St. Lawrence originally from the city of Huesca in Northeast Spain, travelled to Rome in 257 to serve under Pope Sixtus II. As one of the seven deacons of Rome, he was in charge of the Church s material goods and had the responsibility of distributing alms to the sick and needy. On August 6, 258 AD Lawrence witnessed the Emperor Valerian order the death of Pope Sixtus II when the pope refused to offer sacrifices to the Roman gods. After the Pope was beheaded, a Roman prefect ordered Lawrence to hand over the riches of the Church. In response Lawrence requested three days to gather the Church s treasures. As promised he returned three days later and invited the prefect to walk with him to anteroom where the precious treasure should have awaited. Seeing the city s poor, sick and crippled the prefect was enraged at Lawrence s audacity and disobedience. In response Lawrence reportedly told the prefect these were the true treasures of the Church. Lawrence was sentenced to death and was grilled alive on a gridiron. According to tradition, he told his torturers "This side s done. Turn me over and have a bite." He later became the patron of the poor, comedians, chefs and the city of Rome.
