But for your teaching of maths, I would have been a failed student in Maths. Sir your simple way of teaching maths has no parallels. May your service be rewarded with many greater honors.

I am very glad to read on my class teacher Mrs. Hilda. I studied 8th to 10th during the year 1985 to 1988; passed 10th from St. Lawrence Jr. college Moodublle. i carry with fond memories of Hilda teacher calling me "son" in the class whenever i answered the English Grammer questions correctly. She has been great inspiration to me to have called with such recognition , affection and encouragement she gave me was valuable in making what i am today!
My hearty thanks and congratulation for the teacher couples who have been exemplary.

Great article on the occasion of teachers day. Yes teachers are tide by the syllabus, but a teacher can still go beyond syllabus and teach many things which will be useful for a student after his school days. Mostly teachers do not bother to teach other than the set syllabus as many teachers are into this profession just as a means of earning their living. Yes there are few teachers who go beyond the set guidelines and always what they teach will be remembered and cherished by students for their entire life. Thanks Philip for this wonderful thought.

Pardon me Sirs: it is mean of me to unmask your hidden emotions. But I do not mean to be disrespectful. It is not personal. A courteous Happy Teachers Day greeting today may remain just that - a courtesy. A majority of the teachers are unhappy and regret being in this noble profession. A study by Brain Centre, Bangalore concludes: "70% techers are unhappy with their profession. 10% teachers are fed up with their job and have planned to quit".
Unruly student behavior is a reality, not a Bollywood invention. Poor pay, low social status, physical and mental stress are their companions.
I am yet to meet a teacher who can innovate non-conformity within the system; and give learning a chance instead of teaching to conform and mug information. The entire focus is to get 100% results for their school. The focus is to reach the elite brand status for the schools. teachers have found Private tuitions (more mugging, more notes, more information) their saviour. Twin goals, higher personal income and higher school ranking are met. Everyone is happy. Parents, teachers and school correspondence. What about students? Literate for sure; Educated? Your take please.

I was delighted to see an article on my Aunt Stella. Thank you belle vision and Dr.Eugine.The B/W photo took me back to my old sweet memories. I was the only person missing in the photo as the same was clicked by me. when I lost my Dad at the age of 11, it was Stella Aunt who took care of me, my sister Mable and my brother Stephen.Today if I have become something, it was due to her sacrifice.She was the guiding force of our family at Pernankila. I pray the almighty to give her good health and peace of mind.
