It is indeed a great event to see Shirva St Mary s College,function, as the college has become a great educational institution providing for all essential academic needs of the rural students.
The dream of founding fathers of Catholic Sabha has come true and one must rember the efforts of Mr Oscar Fernandes, Mr. Alban Rodrigues and other members of the Ad-hoc committee of the Catholic Sabha, who with the backing of Rev. Fr.Rosario and Mr Louis Mendonca the Principal of the High school then,to have got permission to start the College in 1980despite great odds. By the Blessings of Mother Mary it has grown to strength and this occasion is indeed a great one.
May the St.Mary s college become the top educational College, in a rural India, in India.

This is a very appropriate and timely message to the parents of school going children. In all Catholic schools catholic Parents must be provided with such messages. But Parents give preference to T.v. serials and tuitions than to such spiritual values. It is to be accepted with all humility that it is God who is the giver of all-wisdom, knowledge, ranks, seats and good career. Therefore the parents sarents have to accept, as Fr. Fernndes said,spiritual values must take first place in every ones life. It is very hard to digest.But it is indeed very true.

Areca nut cultivation is a local topic of interest. You could publish an exclusive report with volunteers scouting growers in the villages around Belle. D Souza from Nakre, APMC executive, can provide inputs and guidance.
I spent some time with four growers, small and medium, last January, when it was harvest time. Unseasonal rains, high labor cost, nonavailability of young workers, poor prices and uncertainty of sustainability of acreage were issues that we discussed.

Congratulations KWAK. Monthi Feast was well organized in a Traditional way on 17th September 2010. MC Edward/Melwyn did a wonderful job. Announcement/Games were nice too. Food was delicious and Vorn was too tasty. Seating arrangement was also good, spacious. Full celebration was wonderful.Keep up the great work.

A Good Initiative by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joswey Fernandes along with other priests on the occasion of the Centenary Year of our Parish. I hope many of the parishioners will make use of this great opportunity to visit the Holy Land.

When China hosted Olympics - Beijing 2008, they made sure that the event was grand success with top class facilities and infrastructure. As far as India, this was the major event to showcase India to world and we should have made all efforts to get positive and good response.

Only if Lalit Modi had been roped in , he would have made this CWG the most successful event. People accused him of miss management, but all that he did was successful. All the corrupt people are still around the CWG.
